“Start with the Youth:” Evaluation of a Community-Based Pilot Program to Educate Boston Youth on HIV/AIDS
I had the privilege of working with a terrific group of Harvard undergraduate and graduate students, and members of the Harvard University Center for AIDS Research and Global Health Institute on the evaluation of a community-based program to prevent HIV among Boston youth. The program culminated in a media project created by the youth to raise awareness about HIV, which was broadcasted on the Boston Neighborhood Network. To evaluate the program, we interviewed the youth and their adult mentors/caregivers about their experiences.
Be sure to watch the media project featuring an interview with a member of the CFAR Community Advisory Board and a rap written and performed by the youth, see our field report summarizing the results of our evaluation, and stay tuned for our manuscript (currently under review).
